Digital Cameras
The excessive thirst for batteries was the reason I started to look out for another digital camera even though I had a competent one in my Canon Powershot A310. My Canon was not only extremely thirsty, it was also extremely quality conscious. My camera's thirst might have been matched by my own thirst for alcohol, but I wasn't as quality conscious as my camera. I would happily settle for anything liquid so long as it had alcohol in it, but that was not the case with my camera. It wouldn't do with the ordinary Eveready or Nippo or the usual ones that you get in the market. It would settle only for Duracell. All in all, my camera was beginning to become slightly heavy in the pocket for me. So, I decided to scout for a change.
About 4-5 months back, when I had sold my Nokia 6600 for Samsung SGH-X200 (guess I got the models right, but the gist of it is that I stepped down majorly from a high-end model to a low-end one), the news was received with brickbats by my friends. They were all pretty cross that I hadn't consulted them regarding the sale, and they even went to the extent of claiming that they would have willingly paid double of what I got for it finally. So, this time around, I remembered all those words and decided not to make the same mistake. I called up those friends who were the most vocal last time. The first one said that he isn't sure and would have to think about it whereas the next one was pretty sure he couldn't afford it. Few more phone calls later, I finally realized what I doubted all along - that they wouldn't have bought my phone too. Well, it wouldn't have been such a major issue if I hadn't gone to a shop and hadn't fallen in love with a sexy model (of camera). Even though the brand was Olympus, it looked like Olympia to me. I wanted her and wanted her badly, but my wife was there along with me. When she realized that my love for Olympus was bordering on the amorous, she put her foot down firmly. Couldn't blame her really, I was almost drooling. She said we can't have 2 digicams (and thank God for making her so practical) and we could think of this new beauty only if we found a taker for our older one.
Just 2 days into the search for a new owner, I've already realized how tough life could get at times. Will I find a taker for my camera, I don't know. The way my luck has been over the last couple of months, I am rather skeptical. Anyway, my prayer for a brighter tomorrow is always on.

Really interesting, many a times have I had the same problem getting rid of stuff and hankering for new and improved stuff. I have accumulated a collection of CDs and DVDs that are quite useless now as I never get to see them. This is mainly due to the acute lack of time. You never know how electronic clutter accumulates, but accumulate it does and leaves you with both your hands full of choices and difficult judgements to make.
